Green tea has been used as a medicinal plant in China for thousands of years. In addition to a high-quality green tea extract, Dr. Oldhaver's Matcha Tea + Green Tea Extract also contains valuable and expensive Matcha tea from Japan. This is produced from green tea using a special process. The careful and gentle processing of the raw material increases the quality of the green tea and concentrates the amount of its ingredients.
High content of catechins (EGCG)
The main reason for their positive effect is the catechins. Their content is particularly high in Matcha tea because it thrives in partial shade. While many manufacturers claim that their green tea has a high polyphenol content but provide no specific details, the minimum content of polyphenols, catechins, and specifically epigallocatechin gallate in Dr. Oldhavers Matcha Tea + Green Tea Extract is explicitly stated. These secondary plant compounds, which belong to the flavonoid group, are part of the large group of polyphenols. They protect the tea plant from predators and pathogens. 40 percent of the dried leaf consists of catechins, which have an effect on the metabolism and have a high antioxidant potential.
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
Also included is Vitamin B2, which supports energy metabolism, the functioning of the nervous system, the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes, iron metabolism, the maintenance of vision, and the maintenance of normal red blood cells.
