Immune miracle beta-glucan

The immune system is of central importance to our health. The stronger it is and the more efficiently it functions, the better our body can cope with pathogens, malfunctioning cells, and ultimately the aging process itself. However, poor nutrition, an unhealthy lifestyle, negative stress due to information overload, the rise in toxins, and increasing environmental pollution are challenging the immune system more and more. This is one reason why lifestyle diseases, autoimmune disorders, allergies, and cancer have increased significantly in recent decades. But there are substances with which we can support our immune system in a natural way. One of them is beta-glucan, still relatively unknown in this country, but long a part of supportive immunotherapy in East Asia and the USA.

Beta-glucan is a carbohydrate found in the cell walls of fungi. In particular, beta-1,3/1,6-glucan, which comes from the smallest fungus in the world, the yeast fungus, acts directly on the central control centers of our immune system, namely the macrophages, monocytes, granulocytes, and killer cells. Here, beta-glucan provides a stimulus that can trigger a wealth of defense activities in the body with the help of immune-specific messenger substances. As a result, the immune system is put into a state of increased performance and functionality. Based on a comprehensive review of studies, the author presents this fascinating substance in an understandable way and provides concrete instructions on how beta-glucan can be used in practice.
